Royal Far West

Established in 1924, Royal Far West is one of Australia’s oldest charities. It has been a trusted and vital part of the lives of tens of thousands of country children. Despite many improvements in rural living conditions and incredible advances in health, still too often country children cannot access health and education services they need.

Royal Far West intends to help 15,000 country children every year by 2020. To do this they are investing in people, programs, and technology. They are also investing in new facilities at their headquarters in Manly. The current health and education building was originally built to treat children with polio in the 1950’s. Additional space is urgently needed to enable programs and services to expand and help more children in rural and regional communities. Their plan is to immediately redevelop part of the existing site and complete a new six level Centre for Child Health and Learning.

The $35 million Caring For Country Kids Appeal, currently underway (at $26 million so far), will meet the cost of this project aimed at improvingthe health and education outcomes of country children.
